Isn't 'Land Down Under' an Australian song as opposed to "American music"?
It's true I've travelled across the world and many times just walked into KFC...
gotta love familiarity and the 7 secret spices...*rolls eyes*

Have you guys tried that 50s-style diner yet? I think it's part of Habitat House (but I'm not sure, as I'm writing from San Francisco).
I always thought Delhi needed a kickass American breakfast joint.

I think I understand exactly what drove you to those places. When I lived in Mexico I would occasionally visit....Denny's...for a grilled cheese sandwich. It was never what I was hoping for, though.

This is my first comment but you should know that I've recently become hooked on your wonderful blog.

One of these days I hope to make it to India myself but in the mean time your observations are fascinating to me. Thanks for writing and do keep up the good work!

I'm not sure it is lame. I mean, it's now a totally different context, plus, when you are far from home it's nice to have little reminders, even if you are really enjoying the stay in India.

*Years ago, visiting cousins in India, I was desperate for pizza after a couple weeks of Indian food. I mean, I love Indian food and I don't reallly like pizza that much, so, I'm not sure what that was all about!

**I see it here in the States, my Indian relatives, of course, want little bits of India here, so, they go to Indian restaurants, shops. Like I said, little reminders are nice.

***Or, maybe, it was just the most convenient place to eat.
